Abstract

The article analyzes natural resources as a factor of economic and environmental potential development. The purpose of article is to study and assess the impact of natural resources on the economic and environmental potential of a particular region, including the issues of economic efficiency of the resource using and the degree of balance between economic development and nature conservation. Achievement of this goal is ensured by fulfilling a number of tasks: clarifying the essence of the concept of «natural resources», determining of their structure; analyzing the natural resources of Vinnytsia region, in particular land, water and mineral resources; establishing their significance of economic and ecological potential development of the region. The subject of the study is the natural resources of Vinnytsia region. The methods of analyzing scientific sources are used and a statistical analysis of the collected data was carried out in the course of study. The structure of the land fund of Vinnytsia region and agricultural land by the main forms of land use, the main indicators of water use in the region in 2022, and mineral resources are analyzed. The significance of natural resources in the region development and ensuring the economic and environmental potential is highlighted. Proposals are made for the efficient use of natural resources as a factor in the economic and environmental potential of the region, including the introduction of sustainable technologies, stimulating the use of alternative energy sources, creating mechanisms for the restoration of natural ecosystems, strengthening environmental education, developing a waste management system, etc. The results of the study may be useful for governmental and regional authorities, enterprises and business sector, which can use the information obtained for planing the efficient use of resources and minimize environmental impact, as well as to the research community as a basis for further scientific research. The provided proposals will contribute to improving the efficiency of natural resource use and ensuring sustainable economic and environmental development of the region.
