Abstract

An approach to long-term planning procedure of the bank activities, based on the phase of the macroeconomic cycle and the phase of the bank’s own life cycle (combining the retrospective assessment of the bank’s activities with its mission) is formulated in the article. The peculiarities of the macroeconomic cycle and the life cycle phases’ combination generate a limited number of scenarios for the development of the bank, which can be described as a typical scenario. It is proved, that adaptation of sample scripts for a particular bank is the procedure of filling the concrete facts and processes taking place in the bank or anticipated to be implemented in bank in the future, in conjunction with the forward-looking assessment of the dynamics of the future development of the global and national economies, to achieve competitive advantage in the banking industry.
