The article analyzes the state and features of conflictogenic potential in a globalizing world implementation. On the basis of analysis of the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research (HIIK) research results the quantitative and qualitative peculiarities of the escalation of tension in geo-economic and geo-political dimensions are determined. The regional structure of emerging conflicts, the main causes of both domestic and international conflicts, stages of international conflict’s development are considered. It is established that today there is an increase in the number of both international and local conflicts, increase in the share of conflicts, which are at the stage of violent crisis; and that the main causes of conflicts in the world are ideological differences, use of national power, resources.
